You know, sometimes I watch the news and see what's trending, and I get so annoyed and discouraged over who is making headlines.... and millions of dollars.
The Kardashians, for one.
WHY? For the love of all that is good, why?
But then I have to catch myself, because spiraling into this type of thinking doesn't do me or anybody else any good.
The positive in this is that it got me thinking about all of the women I do admire.
As a troubled teen, I didn't have a strong female role model to help guide me through some really rough waters in my life. Not because my mom was a horrible person; but, because of depression and mental health issues, she simply couldn't be there for me like I needed her to be.
Ever since my teens though, I've been on a quest to find graceful, confident women who I can emulate.
The women who take care of business and themselves, who pursue their creative passions, who carry themselves with dignity, love, and confidence. Who love their husbands and their families deeply, courageously, honestly.
It's these women that inspire me.
It's because of them that I now honor and love my mom for the woman that she is.
They make not make TV, but they have profoundly impacted my life.
I'm thankful for them. I'm thankful for my mom.
I'm thankful for positive role models in my life.
Names of my role models intentionally edited out. They know who they are. :))
Who has impacted your life for the better?
