Gratitude Journal: Being Good to Yourself

If you've been with me for a while on this blog, you know that I was married once before.
Divorce is so sad and painful, and I used to be embarrassed and ashamed that it was a part of my history.

But I don't feel that way anymore.

The girl who needed approval from a boy now knows she doesn't need anyone or anything to make her feel good about herself.
The girl who hung her head in shame now holds her head up high.

I think of this every time Jason buys me flowers.
I think of it when I buy them for me too.  :-)

I have a happy, healthy family.
A happy, healthy me.
A second life.

And I wouldn't change my past for the world.

"Experience: the most brutal of teachers.
But you learn.  My God, do you learn."
- C. S. Lewis -

. . .

Who or what reminds you to be good to yourself?
