I've been working on a charcoal portrait over the past few days.

When I'm drawing or painting, I usually like to work at my kitchen table.
Or sprawl belly-down on my bedroom floor.
But I'll take a dry, shady spot in the grass any day.
A few little friends kept me company.

A common question I get asked is where I find my reference photos.
I love istock photos. You can also do a Creative Commons search on flickr. I've also asked a photographer a time or two for their permission. They are usually very generous when you ask. :)
This is wonderful Jenny. You do animals so well. I like to draw at the dining room table. I have a wonderful view out side thru our sun rooms large windows. Or I like to draw outside on our picnic table. I guess I like large tables for working on so I can spread everything out. I just posted a journal page and pix I did and took while sitting outside today. Its very inspiring in the fresh air.

Beautiful! I enjoyed seeing where you create and your surroundings :) I'm not much for working outside so inside, with good light, is usually just fine.
